Focused Solutions for Rail and Transportation RF Network Design

The needs of an efficient Transportation system differ greatly from standard wireless solutions and require a different approach to planning and optimizing. EDX has worked closely with the rail and transportation communities to define SignalRT, based on the extensive capabilities of the SignalPro suite of RF tools. SignalRT incorporates several innovations in RF planning which simplify and improve the design of RF networks for Rail and Transportation systems resulting in more efficient use of spectrum, improved safety and lower cost.

SignalRT provides-high resolution route studies which deliver a more accurate representation of the interference, coverage and quality of RF service along the route of interest. This focus on the specific route, rather than an area, translates into more efficient use of scarce and valuable spectrum, higher performance, greater reliability and redundancy, and lower equipment costs.

SignalRT™

EDX¨ SignalRTª is an advanced wireless network planning tool designed specifically for the Rail and Transportation industries. By employing SignalRT with its advanced Route-Based Planning capabilities, EDX customers will achieve higher performance and reliability on a faster deployment schedule, while benefiting from lower implementation and equipment costs. Moreover, a properly planned network will make efficient use of valuable and scarce spectrum. SignalRT route studies enable Rail and Transportation communication networks to be designed discreetly for the transportation corridor of interest. Multi-Routes are supported and a dynamic selection tool allows for sub-routes to be targeted and examined in detail. SignalRT includes a broad set of route studies that allows for the planning of all relevant wireless technologies.

The principal building block of EDX’s comprehensive line of wireless network engineering tools, it is appropriate for any system, including broadband wireless WiMAX, LTE, & Wi-Fi, cellular, and other mobile radio systems. It offers all of the study types you need to design a basic wireless network, including area studies, link/point-to-point studies and route studies.
